Son of William and Emma Bell, of 31 Gedling Street,  Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He died of wounds, 5th December 1917.

Buried/Commemorated : Rocquigny-Equancourt Road British Cemetery, Manancourt, France. Plot 5. Row D. Grave 21.
