Battalion : 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Leicester. Son of Joseph and Ellen Bell, of 20, Westbourne Street, Leicester. Husband of Charlotte Bell. He was a barber prior to enlisting at Leicester. He was killed in action, 24th November 1916, during a German artillery barrage, whilst on a working party to the north of Beaumont Hamel, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
