Battalion: 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Harworth, Nottinghamshire and lived at Blyth, Nottinghamshire. Son of John and Sarah Beighton, of High Street, Blyth. He was a Game Keeper on the Blyth Hall Estate near Worksop, Nottinghamshire prior to enlisting at Retford, Nottinghamshire. He was killed in action, 27th April 1917, aged 22, during the attack on Hargicourt, France.
