Born at Derby. Son of William and Ann Beeston, of Poyser Cottage, Kirk Langley, Derbyshire. He was a butcher prior to enlistment. He went to Africa 27th April 1915 with the Derbyshire Yeomanry and then joined the 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and proceeded to France. He died of wounds 5th June 1917.
