Private Henry Beeley

Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Tupton, Derbyshire and lived at Grassmoor, Chesterfield, Derbyshire. Son of George and Caroline Beeley, of 4, Revill Street, Grassmoor. He was a coal miner (pony driver) prior to enlisting at Chesterfield. He went to France 15th December 1915 and was killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 24, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
