Born at Beeston, Nottinghamshire and lived at New Awsworth, Nottinghamshire. Son of Charles and Emma Beeby , of Jubilee Street, Kimberley, Nottinghamshire. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France 29th June 1915 and was killed in action, 16th September 1916, during the attack on the German positions at Guillemont, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
