Born at Nottingham and lived at 12, Eleanor Terrace, Lamcote Street, The Meadows, Nottingham. Son of John and Hanna Beckworth, of 45, Burford Road, Nottingham; Husband of Ada Crane (formerly Beckworth), of 1, Seaton Terrace, Goodhead Street, Nottingham. He was a packing case maker prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, aged 32, in the attack on the German positions near Beaumont Hamel, France.
