Battalion : 2/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of John and Mary Jane Beckett, of  246, Alfreton Road, Nottingham; Husband of Henriette Beckett, of 246, Denman Street, Nottingham. He was a shopkeeper prior to enlisting at Nottingham, He went to France 11th November 1914 with the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was later transferred to the  2/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and was killed in action, 18th April 1918, aged 39, during a German attack near Kemmel, Belgium.
