Born at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire and lived at Hyson Green, Nottingham. Son of Robert and Anne Beastall, of Newark Road, Sutton-in-Ashfield. Husband of Lily Beastall. He was a general labourer prior to enlisting at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He went to France on 23rd September 1915 and was killed in action, on 9th October 1918, whilst attacking the German positions at Le Cateau, France.
