Private Arthur Bearder

Battalion: 2nd Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Sneinton, Nottingham. Son of Mrs Eliza Bearder, of 37, North Street, Sneinton. He was a labourer prior to enlisting in 1908 at Nottingham. He went to France on 8th September 1914 and was killed in action on 20th September 1914, aged 22, when the battalion was ordered to retake trenches taken by the Germans at the head of the Troyon Valley, France, during the Battle of the Aisne.
