Born at Bulwell, Nottingham and lived at Turner Street, Nottingham. Husband of Kate Beardall,  of 5 Carrington Place, Lower Eldon Street, Sneinton, Nottingham. He was a brewer prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 1st July 1917, in the attack on the German line west of Lens, France.
