Battalion : Depot Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born 16th September 1894 at Buxton, Derbyshire and lived at Matlock, Derbyshire. Son of Robert Henry and Elizabeth Beard, of Smedley Street, Matlock. He was a gardener prior to enlisting at Buxton. He went to Gallipoli and suffered gunshot wounds, 21st August 1915 which resulted in amputation of both right leg and right arm. He invalided back to England where he died of wounds, 27th March 1919, aged 24.
