Private James Sydney Beale

Born 23rd April 1899 and lived at Harringay, London, Son of James Watkin Beale and Annie Beale, of 96, Rosebery Gardens, Green Lanes, Harringay. He was a clerk prior to enlisting into the Training Reserve Battalion, 2nd March 1917 at Tottenham. He was transferred to the 51st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 1st November 1917 and went to France 1st April 1918. He was then posted to the 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 25th May 1918. He suffered gunshot wounds to his chest, 3rd October 1918 and died of wounds, 4th October 1918, aged 19, at No. 12 Casualty Clearing Station, Tincourt, France.
