Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of Arthur Edward and Annie Elizabeth Beal, of 16, Henry Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham. He was clotheares assistant prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He died of wounds, 6th November 1918, aged 21, whilst attached to the 8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Buried  Wargnies-Le-Petit Communal Cemetery, France. In South-East Part.
