Born at Sutton, Yorkshire and lied at Hessle, Yorkshire. Son of George and Matilda Bayston, of Hessle. He enlisted at Hull and was killed in action 7th April 1917, during the attack at Le Verguier, France.

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
