Born at Kirklington, Nottinghamshire. Son of John and Emma Baxter, of Helpringham, Sleaford, Lincolnshire. Resided at Blidworth Lodge Farm, Blidworth and was a horseman. He enlisted at Hucknall 17th January 1916, went to France 28th September 1918. Died of pneumonia 29th November 1918, aged 22, at No. 5 Casualty Clearing Station, Maubeuge, France.
