Born at Nottingham. Son of Robert and Sarah Baxter, of 3, Duke of Wellington Yard, Newark Street, Sneinton, Nottingham. Was a general labourer. He enlisted into the militia at Chilwell 19th April 1907, then re-engaged 19th August 1912. He went to France 11th November 1914 and was killed in action 19th January 1915, aged 24, near Houplines, France.
