Born and lived at Wymondham, Norfolk. Son of Robert and Mary Ann Bartram, The Lake, Northfield, Wymondham, Norfolk. He was an Apprentice Cabinet Maker prior to enlisting at Alfreton, Derbyshire. He was killed in action, 25th October 1917, whilst serving in the line at Hill 70, near Mazingarbe, France.
