Son of Ralph and Alice Emily Barton, of Castle Street, Melbourne, Derbyshire. He was Gardener prior to enlisting 15th July 1908 at Melbourne. He went to France 1st March 1915 and was killed in action, 16th June 1915, aged 24, whilst serving in the line at Kemmel, Belgium.
