Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Sneinton, Nottingham. Son of Frank and Anne Barton, of 1, Pleasant Terrace, Upper Eldon Street, Sneinton. Brother of Mrs. S. A. Wakefield of 24, Camden Street, Sneinton Road, Nottingham. He was a sawyer prior to enlisting at Derby. He went to France 4th November 1914 and was killed in action, 11th March 1915, age 29, in the attack at Neuve Chapelle, France.
