Born and lived at Stapleford, Nottinghamshire. Son of William and Sarah Ann Barson, of 14, Horace Avenue, Stapleford. Husband of Mary Barson, of 63, Nottingham Road, Stapleford. He was a lace twist hand prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He died, 7th August 1915, aged 28.of endocarditis (heart failure) at South Shields, 2nd Voluntary Aid Hospital, Count Durham.

Buried  Stapleford Cemetery, Nottinghamshire, United Kingdom.
