Born and lived at Nottingham. Son of George and Ann Barrowcliff; Husband of Susan Frith Barrowcliff, of 6, Lavender Street, Nottingham. He was a painters labourer prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He was killed in action, 29th September 1918, aged 38, in the attack near Lihaucourt, France.
