Battalion : 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Cambushnethan, Lanarkshire, Scotland and lived at Hamilton, Lanarkshire. Son of Robert Barrie, of 198, Quarry Street, Hamilton. He was a baker prior to enlisting 27th January 1915 at Hamilton. Went to France 27th February 1915. He was transferred to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 20th August 1917 and was killed in action, 27th May 1918, whilst the battalion was in a retiring fight to Montagne De Guyancourt, France.
