Born and lived at Grimsby, Lincolnshire. Son of Thomas and Catherine, of 328, Victoria Street, Grimsby. He was a labourer prior to enlisting 3rd October 1916 at Grimsby. He went to France 24th December 1917 and was killed in action, 27th May 1918, whilst battalion was retiring to Montagne De Guyancourt, France.
