Private Robert Barrett
Army Number: 71928 (formerly 365569 North Staffordshire Regiment)
Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Son of Robert and Alice Barrett, of Wolverhampton; Husband of Edith Barrett, of 3, Riches Street, Whitmore Reans, Wolverhampton. He was a bootmaker and repairer prior to enlisting on 25th June 1916 into the 3rd Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment at Lichfield, Staffordshire. He was posted to the 8th Battalion North Staffordshire Regiment and went to France on 15th May 1917. He was then transferred to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys), Regiment, 5th June 1917 and was killed in action, 31st July 1917, age 31, in the attack at Bellewaarde Lake, near Ypres, Belgium
