Born at Mansfield and lived at Annesley Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire. Son of Charles Henry and Mary Elizabeth Barratt, of Reform Street, Annesley Woodhouse. He was educated at Brunt’s School, Mansfield and enlisted at Newark, Nottinghamshire. He was killed in action, 31st March 1917, aged 18, during a raid on the German lines near Vendelles, France.
