Born in Derby and lived in Nottingham. Son of William and Charlotte Barrand, of 35, Edginton Street, Thorneywood, Nottingham. He enlisted at Nottingham and was killed in action, 21st March 1918, whilst holding the line near Noreuil, France on the opening day of the German Spring Offensive or (Kaiserschlact)
