Born at Burslem, Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire. Son of Leonard and Emily Barnett, of 34, Oxford Street, Longport, Stoke-On-Trent, Staffordshire. He was a mould maker at Dalton’s Pottery, Stoke on Trent, prior to enlisting 4th August 1916 at Newcastle under Lyme. He went to France 13th September 1917 and died of wounds, 2nd May 1918, aged 19.
