Private George William Barnett

Battalion : 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Wymeswold, Leicestershire and lived at 21B, Factory Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire. Son of William and Kate Barnett, of 79, Cobden Street, Loughborough, Leicestershire. He was a shop assistant prior to enlisting at Newark, Nottinghamshire, 20th December 1915. He was killed in action whilst attacking the Nurses Home in the grounds of the south Dublin union, 27th April 1916, age 23, during the Irish Rebellion.
