Private Frank Barnes

Battalion : 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Burbage, Leicestershire. Son of John and Ellen, of 12, Occupation Road, Burbage. He was a hosiery worker prior to enlisting at Nuneaton, Warwickshire. He was killed in action, 4th July 1916, during the attack on the German positions near Fricourt, France, during the Battle of the Somme.

Commemorated : Thiepval Memorial, France. Pier and Face 10 C 10 D and 11 A.
