Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born at Derby and lived at Bonsall, Derbyshire. Son of James and Ellen Barlow, of Via Gellia Bonsall, Matlock, Derbyshire. He was knotter in a woollen mill prior to enlisting at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. He went to France on 14th July 1915 and was killed in action, 14th February 1916, aged 20, during heavy German shellfire and the explosion of a German mine, prior to the German attack of the front line trenches, near the canal to the south-east of Ypres, Belgium.
