British 1914 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn and lived in Nottingham. Son of Charles and Ellen Barker, of 45, Plantagenet Street, Nottingham. He was an Iron Fettler and he lived at 28 Crown Street, Nottingham. He enlisted at Derby and went to France with the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 4th November 1914. Later he was posted to the 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment and was killed in action, 11th September 1916, aged 21, by the German shelling of the trenches South of Thiepval, France during the Battle of the Somme.
