Born and lived at 7, Cherry Place, Coalpit Lane, Nottingham. Son of John and Elizabeth Barker, of 14 High Cross Street, Nottingham. Husband of Lucy Mary Barker, of 43, Martin Street, Nottingham. He was a fettler prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to Gallipoli on 7th November 1915 and was accidentally killed on 26th November 1915, aged 41, when his dugout collapsed during a storm at Suvla Bay.
