Born at Eckington, Yorkshire and lived at Shirebrook, Derbyshire. Husband of Liddie Barker. He was a coal miner prior to enlisting at Sheffield. He went to France on 18th September 1915 and died a prisoner of war on 20th July 1918 in Germany.
