Private Harold Barker

Battalion: 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Son of Ernest and Ada Barker of 39, Mount Street, Nottingham. He was a grocers errand boy prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 27th October 1915 and was killed in action, on 1st July 1916, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
