British 15 Star, British War and Victory MedalBorn at Caunton, Newark, Nottinghamshire. Son of Thomas and Mary Elizabeth Barker, of Caunton. He lived at Besthorpe, Nottinghamshire. Was a Farm Labourer at Maplebeck, Newark, Nottinghamshire prior to enlisting 5th October 1914 at Newark. He went to France on 2nd March 1915 and he suffered severe shell and gunshot wounds to both legs and neck on 10th August 1915. He was admitted to 24 General Hospital, Etaples, France 10th August 1915 and died of wounds on 19th September 1915, aged 21.
