Born At Unstone, Derbyshire. Son of Albert and Mary Ann Barker, of 4, Quoit Green, Dronfield, Derbyshire. He was a grinder prior to enlisting on 11th December 1915 at Dronfield. He went to France on 17th January 1917 and was killed in action, 28th May 1917, aged 22, whilst serving in the line near Bullay-Grenay, France.
