Private Charles Barker

Battalion: 2/8th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Carlton, Nottingham. Son of Charles and Elizabeth Barker, of 24, Park Road, Carlton. He was a colliery labourer at Gedling Colliery prior to enlisting at Arnold, Nottinghamshire. He was killed in action, 26th September 1917, in the attack on the German positions near St. Julian, Belgium.
