Born and lived at Calverton, Nottinghamshire. Son of Henry and Harriett Bardill, of Calverton. Husband of Mabel Annie Bardill, of The Avenue, Calverton. He was a hosiery worker prior to enlisting at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire. He was killed in action, 3rd September 1916, in the attack on the German positions near Beaumont Hamel, France, during the Battle of the Somme.
