Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Calverton, Nottinghamshire. Son of John T. and Kate Bardill, of Georges Lane, Calverton, Nottinghamshire. He was a farm servant at Peafield Farm, Mansfield Woodhouse, Nottinghamshire, prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He served in Gallipoli with the 9th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, during 1915 and was later posted to the 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment. He was killed in action, 27th May 1918, aged 25, whilst the battalion was near Montagne de Guyancourt, France.
