Born at lived at Chatteris, Cambridgeshire. Son of Charles and Frances Henry, of 16, Southampton Place, Chatteris. He was a farm labourer prior to enlisting on 28th June 1916 at Whitehall, Middlesex. He was transferred to the 2/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment, 25th October 1916 and went to France on 26th February 1917. He was killed in action, 4th April 1917, in the attack on the German positions at Le Vergier, France.
