Born at Derby and lived in Buffalo, New York, U.S.A. Son of Thomas and Sarah Ann Banks, of 58, Indian Church Road, Buffalo, New York. He was a draughtsman prior to enlisting on 7th May 1915 at Liverpool. He qualified as 1st Class Signaller, 29th June 1916, went to France 23rd August 1916 and was killed in action, 7th June 1917, aged 25, in the attack on Hill 60, Belgium.
