Battalion: 1st Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived at Spondon, Derbyshire. Son of William Bamford, of 27, Church Street, Spondon. Husband of Annie Bamford, of 34, Chapel Lane, Spondon. He was a brass fettler prior to enlisting, 31st August 1914. He went to France, 27th December 1914 and was wounded on 11th March 1915, during the counterattack by the Germans at Neuve Chapelle, France. He died of these wounds, 12th March 1915.
