Born in London and lived at Beckenham, Kent. Brother of Elizabeth F. Ballantyne. He enlisted at Nottingham and went to France on 25th October 1915. He was killed in action, 23rd April 1917, by German shellfire whilst serving in the line at “Exeter Castle”, near Philosophe, France.
