Battalion: 10th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived at Mansfield, Nottinghamshire. Son of Samuel and Esther Ball, of 39, George Street, Mansfield. He was a colliery labourer prior to enlisting at Mansfield. He went to France on 14th July 1915 and was killed in action, 9th November 1916, age 20, whilst serving in the line near Montauban, France.
