Battalion: 1/6th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born at Fairfield, Buxton, Derbyshire. Son of Philip and Sarah Ball, of 11 Birch Road, Fairfield, Buxton. He was a Locomotive Fireman for the London and North Western Railway Company prior to enlisting 6th March 1914 at Buxton. He went to France on 28th February 1915 and was killed in action, 6th June 1915, whilst serving in the line at Kemmel, Belgium.
