Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of John Henry and Elizabeth Mary Ball of 50, Leicester Street, Nottingham. He enlisted on 24th September 1914 at Nottingham and went to France on 28th February 1915. He was killed in action, 4th August 1915, aged 19, whilst serving in the line near Sanctuary Wood, Belgium.
