Son of Charles and Annie Barnett Ball, of The Cottage, Kelston, Bath, Somerset. Husband of Gwendoline Ball, of 9 Fairfield View, Bath. He was Railway Porter prior to enlisting on 9th November 1915 at Derby. He went to France on 18th October 1917 and was killed in action, 22nd April 1918, aged 24, during the counterattack at Mesnil, France.
