Battalion: 1/5th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.
Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of Samuel and Harriet Ball, of 18, Wordsworth Road, Radford, Nottingham. He enlisted on 14th October 1914 at Derby and was killed in action, 1st July 1916, aged 19, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
