Private Frank Bakewell

Battalion: 1/7th Battalion Sherwood Foresters (Notts & Derbys) Regiment.

Born and lived in Nottingham. Son of Tom and Alice Bakewell, of 22, Bute Avenue, Lenton Sands, Nottingham. He was an office boy in a shipping office prior to enlisting at Nottingham. He went to France on 27th October 1915 and was killed in action, 1st July 1916, aged 21, in the attack on the German positions at Gommecourt, France, on the first day of the Battle of the Somme.
